Well, I'm a 60 year old white guy with 5 daughters and a ton of grandkids. I have to ask myself why I'm blogging.
I'm a "techie" despite my age. 42 years of mainframe programming and I have managed to avoid this kind of a thing for most of my career. Now that my "career" is essentially over and I find myself out of work for the last three months, I am considering what it means to be forcibly retired by your industry.
Now that I have the time (unfortunately) and can still afford the DSL (fortunately) I'm going to blog about some of the things that have happened to me over my short life.
Linda (my wife) and several of my freinds and co-workers have said I should write some of my stories down as a book, or at least for my kids. I'm not sure a blog is appropriate for this but, I have seen a lot stranger things on blogs than an old mans ramblings about what he did, or what was done to him.
So, starting tomorrow you will be availed of the history and travels of Roger Nathan Ely.
